Happy Thanksgiving!

Milly's found her seat at the table and is waiting for her Thanksgiving feast to be served to her. I think she may be slightly disappointed.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving holiday!

Love from Natalie & Milly

A Royal Engagement!

I can't explain to you how excited I am for this Royal Wedding!! As one who likes following celebrity gossip, I am especially intrigued by the combination of celebrity and royalty that is the British Royal Family (is that what they're officially called? The whole England/Britain/whatever thing confuses me. Melissa?)  All I know is that his names is "William of Wales" aka WoW, which I think is really awkward.  I think at "university" he went by Will Wales.

I've always thought Kate Middleton would be a great match for William, as well as have what it takes to be Princess/Queen.  Aside from the royal aspect, I think this is especially exciting because we have all been waiting for it for SO LONG.

Anyways, from this moment on I'm officially obsessed with any William/Kate gossip/coverage.  I hate to associate myself with the masses of Londoners and reporters (like the one on ET last night-some woman named Kate who just comes off as being a royal stalker) who say the silliest things, but I just can't help myself. I'm also fascinated by imagining how much thought goes into every little thing. Just for their engagement interview, I question how many dresses she went through, and who all approved her attire before they settled on the one she wore.  Every celebrity is in the spotlight, but for some reason this gets more attention than almost any celebrity out there, and I can't pinpoint exactly why that may be. I suppose it's part our innate, subconscious interest in the unattainable royalty.  Anyone can become a celebrity, but if you're not born into the royal family, your chances are over---except through marriage.  Maybe that is why we are so fascinated by their impending wedding.

The thing I am most excited to see is her dress (of course).  I'm not looking forward to all of the guessing by all of the media of what she will do, which will of course all inevitably be wrong, but I can't wait for the dress.  I'm sure there will be excessive media coverage, and I plan on waking up at whatever hour of the night necessary to see it live.  I may even have a Royal Wedding Sleepover Party!  I just hope it's sooner rather than later.

Breaking News: Milly Gets Attention

I've had to be away from Milly a lot more than I'd like lately due to my current job, but I know that she's a happy camper because Mr. Mike has been a major trooper in helping me take care of her. Since he has a varying schedule being in school, he's been amazingly helpful in taking her out during the day and making sure she gets plenty of tum-rubs and T-R-E-A-Ts.
He found some time to take some pics of her:

Sorry if the belly shot is too sensual for anyone's sensitive eyes. Hey, it's just Milly being Milly. I'm not familiar with any blurring technology I can use on my pictures.

As a bonus, I caught Milly in quite a predicament as she was trying to investigate a grocery bag and got a little trapped. I had time to grab the camera and take this cause she couldn't figure out how to get out.

Richmond Spiders

This is a week late, but I wanted to document the one University of Richmond football game we were able to make it to this season.  We picked a good one-JMU vs. UR.  It was a pretty good game (it kept my attention for like, 60% of the time, which is pretty high for me).  We ended up winning in overtime.
I took my camera our for 5 seconds to take pictures to "document", so they are not very good, but a good post needs some pictures.
It was our first time seeing the new UR stadium, which is a vast improvement from the old one to say the least.

The best part of the game...the popcorn football. It's now on the baker's rack in the kitchen on display like a trophy.

Backstreet's Back!...on Oprah

The Backstreet Boys were briefly on Oprah today as part of a "Where are They Now?: Teen Heartthrob Edition".
As many of you who actually read this blog likely know, I was literally obsessed with "BSB" for the majority of my awkward years.  I'd say from about 6th grade-11th grade, with dwindling enthusiasm.
I kind of forgot they existed for the most part, and I felt extremely awkward watching them today. Almost like a second-hand embarrassment for my former self.
First of all, I felt like I should be calling my mom to request that she tape their appearance for me (cause I'd be at school, duhhh) on a specifically designated VHS tape, on which I recorded all of their appearances.

I was able to make the following observations:

1-Brian was always my favorite, and he says THE most awkward things of any of them. He's just cheesy.  This probably explains a lot about my awkwardness.

2-Nick seems to be going through a "skinny phase". You can never be too sure with him. Go Nick!

3-Kevin is so monotone and smug looking. I almost think that he didn't actually agree to be on the show and they just sedated him, but then I remembered that he was always like that. Ugh,  he's my least favorite for sure

4-Howie was pretty much non-existent as always.

5-AJ appeared to not be on any drugs, but then again he was wearing sunglasses. It was always rumored the Howie was the closeted gay one (a requirement for a boy band), but I'm starting to lean towards AJ. AJ was always my second favorite though. Not sure why.

They then sang "I Want It That Way".  I can't believe there was a time when this was not only a favorite of teenage girls, but of the entire country when it was a #1 hit.  Crazy. I guess  this may be my first moment of "I can't believe we used to like this" and "I can't believe I was one of those weird girls". I still remember the words to all of their songs though, including the little side comments they always make during them in their live performances. Sad. Very sad.

Oh and apparently they have a new CD out? Who did the PR for this? They showed a clip of the new music video and the backdrop was a graffiti filled wall and they were still doing choreographed dance moves.  I guess they're trying to be more "edgy".  I'd still say the song of theirs that can stand the test of time is "The Call", and is kind of the boyband pre-cursor to Lady Gaga's "Telephone".  I remember that video was pretty "controversial" for them when it came out.  Good times.

Ok, I think I've taken a long enough trip down memory lane. I feel awkward just reminiscing about it.
